Irvine / Reader questions

# Follow a claim back to the record.

Approval, a person’s licence and a price are separate questions. Keep the record that answers the question you are asking.

## Match the source to the medicine question.

The US medicine regulator is FDA, short for Food and Drug Administration. Use its patient pages to ask a more specific question about the product.

A doctor or pharmacist can prepare medicine to order; that work is called compounding.

Compounded medicines lack FDA approval even when the pharmacy itself holds a licence.

Compounded-medicine status checked September 26, 2026.

### Which product has approval?

Look up the exact product in the regulator’s approval records, then compare it with the name in the offer.

### What does compounding mean here?

Read the regulator’s explanation of making medicines to order and the checks it does not perform before they are supplied.

### What does the advert claim?

Compare the advert’s wording with the regulator’s page on claims about compounded drugs.

### What does a pharmacy check involve?

Use the regulator’s patient checklist alongside the California pharmacy record.

## Use California’s own records for licences.

Search with the person’s full name or licence number. For the pharmacy, use its own name rather than the care service’s branding.

## Bring a dated price back to the service.

The medicine-price example on the money desk reflects a maker offer recorded September 26, 2026.

Ask the service for today’s written quote and what it includes. Ask the insurer which covered-drug list and approval rules apply.

- Keep the date on the quote.

- Compare the same product and supply amount.

- Keep care fees and tests on separate lines.

- Ask what the continuing bill will contain.
